SOLIDified solid chemistry system installed by Hoffman Water, fed through AP Tech feeders

SugarCreek Foods: Solid Chemistry with AP Tech

SugarCreek Foods runs a food-processing operation that depends on steam and process water. In August 2024, Hoffman Water worked with AP Tech to engineer a solid-chemistry program for the plant.

The job moved the facility off liquid chemical drums and onto SOLIDified solid chemistry, fed through AP Tech feeders. The chemistry was matched to the plant's steam and process water, and the program was built around how the operation runs day to day.

The reasons were practical. Solid chemistry takes hazardous liquid handling and spill risk off the plant floor, holds dosing consistent, and cuts the drum storage and freight that come with liquids.

  • Converted off liquid drums

Moved the plant from liquid chemical drums to SOLIDified solid chemistry.

  • AP Tech solid feeders

Consistent, repeatable dosing through AP Tech feed equipment.

  • Safer handling

No hazardous liquid storage or spill risk on the plant floor.

  • Matched to the plant

Treatment built around the facility's steam and process water.

Co-engineered with AP Tech.

Backed by AP Tech

Our solid-chemistry programs run on AP Tech solid feeders and passivation solids, including the Ultra-M feeders we install, service, and upgrade across boiler, cooling, and closed-loop systems.

When a facility moves off liquid drums, AP Tech is the equipment behind that conversion. Partner contact for solids: Matt Haikalis, CWT at AP Tech.

The Everyday Work Behind the Programs

Most of what we do is ongoing service for manufacturing, food and beverage, and institutional facilities across Ohio. We don't publish client names without their permission, so here is the kind of work that fills a typical month.

Boiler Startups

New steam systems brought online with feedwater, deaerator, and internal treatment dialed in from the first fire.

Condenser Passivation

New condensers and cooling systems passivated before they go into service, so the metal is protected from day one.

Pasteurizer Commissioning

Treatment set up for pasteurizers and process heat, matched to the water and the cleaning schedule.

SOLIDified Conversions

Plants moved off liquid drums to solid chemistry and AP Tech feeders, cutting hazmat handling and freight.

Closed-Loop pH Correction

Mixed-metallurgy loops rebalanced for pH and corrosion control so coils and valves stay clear.

Program Takeovers

Existing programs from other providers reviewed, corrected, and rebuilt around the actual water.
