Our Story

Engineer-Led Since 1998.

Doug Hoffman has spent more than 25 years in industrial water treatment across Ohio. He trained as a chemical engineer at the University of Cincinnati and started in the field in 1998, learning the work on boilers, cooling towers, and process water.

In 2018 he founded Hoffman Water LLC in Urbana, Ohio. The company serves industrial and commercial facilities with a complete line of water treatment: Boiler, Cooling, Wastewater, and Membrane products, plus SOLIDified solid chemistry. The company's standard on every account: Professional Service, Quality, and Value.

He still runs service calls. Boiler startups, condenser passivation, closed-loop pH, SOLIDified conversions. The work that built the company is the work he still does.

Hoffman Water LLC is the parent company, covering full-scope industrial water treatment. Hoffman Soft Water is our pretreatment division, focused on water softening and filtration. When a boiler, tower, or cooling system needs clean water going in, the two sides coordinate so the pretreatment matches the treatment.
